Pinsk is a city of regional subordination, the center of the Pinsk district of the Brest region. Located in Belorussian Polesie in the south of the Republic of Belarus, the city area is 47.36 square kilometers, the climate is temperate continental.

Pinsky district borders on the Rivne region of Ukraine. 65 km south of Pinsk is the Upper Terebezhov-Gorodishche international border crossing. Distance from Pinsk to the capitals of neighboring states: Warsaw (Poland) - 400 km, Vilnius (Lithuania) - 400 km, Kiev (Ukraine) - 450 km, Moscow (Russia) - 1100 km. Distance to the nearest major foreign seaports: Gdansk (Poland) - 750 km, Kaliningrad (Russia) - 850 km, Klaipeda (Lithuania) - 900 km.

The city has a national telecommunications operator RUP Beltelecom, mobile telephone services are provided by three operator companies operating under the brands A1, MTS and life.

Heat supply. The centralized heat supply of residential multi-storey buildings, social infrastructure facilities of Pinsk, its industrial and industrial enterprises is carried out from two boiler houses of the Pinsk CHPP, the Western mini-CHPP branch of the Brestenergo RUP Pinsk heat networks.

Gas supply. Pinsk is carried out on the basis of natural and liquefied gas, the supply of which is carried out by the Pinsk Production Department branch of PU Pinskgaz. The city's gas pipeline network is part of the total network of gas pipelines of the Brest region with a length of more than 12.8 thousand kilometers.

Water supply. The only source of centralized domestic and drinking water supply in Pinsk is the underground waters of the Pinsk terrigenous (R2pn) and Turonian terrigenous-carbonate (K2t) aquifers. The water supply system of the city of Pinsk is combined, combining low-pressure domestic-drinking and fire-fighting water supply, backless. Sewerage. The waste water of the city is discharged by a system of gravity and pressure headers, with a length of 201.76 km and 16 sewage pumping stations, three of them: GKNS-5, KNS-1, KNS-6 pump the effluents to the city treatment plants located on the left bank of the Pripyat River 600 m downstream from its confluence with the Pina River. Sewage pumping stations - structures of buried type (depth up to 10 m), combined with the receiving tank, are equipped with centrifugal pumps of the MP type, 2SM, pumps of the company "Flygt," "Hidrostal," "Grundfos" and "Wilo." Operation of pumps is automated. City treatment facilities provide complete biological treatment of incoming waste water and release of treated water to the Pripyat river. Waste water passes through three treatment stages: mechanical, biological and post-treatment.

Sanitary cleaning of the territory. In Pinsk, there is a planned and regular system of sanitary cleaning of the territory. Municipal solid waste (MSW) is exported to the MSW landfill, which is located in the area of the village of Vulka Gorodishchenskaya, the area of the landfill is 8.2 hectares. The landfill has been in operation for more than 20 years, takes 45 thousand tons. per year.
